Heredity

Heredity is when things (like traits or characteristics) are passed down from parents to their babies. Just like your parents might have passed down their eye color or hair texture to you, animals and plants can pass down all sorts of features and abilities to their offspring too! It's kinda like getting a special package from your mom and dad that has some of their traits inside it for you to have too!
