High integrity pressure protection system

A high integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS) is like a security guard that protects important equipment from getting hurt if too much pressure builds up. You know how sometimes a balloon pops if you blow too much air into it? Well, machines can break too if too much pressure builds up inside of them.

So, scientists and engineers came up with an idea to protect these machines by creating a HIPPS. It's like a special gate that opens and closes to let some air out if there's too much inside. The gate is very smart and only opens when it needs to, and it closes right away after letting just enough air out.

This gate is very important because it protects things like gas and oil pipelines or big machines in factories that need to work under a lot of pressure. If they break, big accidents can happen and people could get really hurt.

So, the HIPPS gate is like a special superhero that keeps everything safe and working properly. It's an important job, but luckily, the HIPPS is really good at it!
