Higher category theory

Higher category theory is a type of mathematics that studies things that are more complex than regular categories. A regular category is like a group of people (eg, friends, family). In higher category theory, you look at how this group of people might be linked together and how those links change when a new person joins the group or someone leaves. This means that higher category theory is about studying how things that are related can change and interact in different ways.
