Hispanic

Hispanic is a word that people use to talk about people who have family roots in Spanish-speaking countries. This means that they or their families come from places like Mexico, Spain, Cuba, or Puerto Rico. It doesn't matter if they were actually born in one of those countries or not. Some people use the word "Latino" instead of "Hispanic" to describe these kinds of people. But either way, it's just a way to talk about a big group of people who come from different places but all have some things in common, like language and culture. So when you hear someone say "Hispanic," they are talking about people who are from these Spanish-speaking countries or are related to them.
