ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Emancipados

Emancipation is a very big and important word that means becoming independent and able to take care of yourself. It's like being a grown-up, but even more grown-up than that. When someone is emancipated, it means that they have been given permission to do things on their own and make their own choices, just like adults do.

Now, there are some young people who might need to become emancipated because they don't have parents or guardians who are able to take care of them. This could happen if their parents have died, if they have been taken away because of safety reasons, if their parents are not able to take care of them because of their jobs or other reasons, or if they have run away from home.

When a young person becomes an emancipado, it means that they are legally free from their parents or guardians and can make their own decisions about things like where they live, how they spend their money, and what kind of education they want. But, becoming emancipated is a big responsibility and it's not something that just anyone can do. The young person will need to show that they are responsible and capable of taking care of themselves before they can become emancipated.
