Tamil Nadu is a state in India that has a very interesting history. It all started a long, long time ago when people started living in the area. These people were called Dravidians and they spoke a language called Tamil.
Over time, Tamil Nadu was ruled by different dynasties like the Cholas, Pandyas, and Pallavas. These dynasties were like big groups of powerful people who controlled the area and made important decisions. They built big temples, forts, and cities that still exist today.
One of the most famous dynasties was the Chola dynasty, which ruled between 850 AD to 1250 AD. They were known for being really good at building things like temples and irrigation systems. They also traded with other countries like China and Thailand.
Around 1500 AD, Europeans like the Portuguese and the British started coming to Tamil Nadu to trade and eventually take over. The British were the ones who ruled the area for a long time and that’s why you can still see a lot of British influence in places like Chennai.
Later, Tamil Nadu became a part of India when India gained independence in 1947. Since then, Tamil Nadu has had its own government and has continued to be a cultural hub of India, known for its music, dance, and art. Today, Tamil Nadu is one of India’s most prosperous states, with a rich and diverse history that is still celebrated and remembered.
