History of Western typography

Western typography is the art of arranging words and letters on a page. It has been used for hundreds of years to help make writing look more organized and pleasing to read. In the 1500s, Johannes Gutenberg developed the first movable type printing press which allowed people to print books and documents quickly. This changed the way people wrote and allowed for new styles of typefaces to be developed. In the 1700s and 1800s, printers and designers began creating more creative and stylish typefaces to be used in books and other types of writing. In the 1900s, the invention of computers and other types of technology made it easier to create and use different typefaces and styles. Today, modern typography is used in almost all forms of writing, from books and newspapers to websites and advertisements.
