The Catholic Church is a really old organization that has been around for a really long time! The Catholic Church started in the year 33 AD. At that time, Jesus was alive and taught people about God and his teachings. When Jesus died, his followers carried on his message and the teachings he taught them. They spread the message of Christianity all over the world, and over time it became its own religion called Catholicism. Over time, the Catholic Church grew and got bigger and bigger and it organized itself under a government of its own, with a leader called the Pope. The Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church and he is the one who makes official decisions for the Church. The Catholic Church believes in God, Jesus, and the teachings of the Bible. The Catholic Church also believes in some special rituals and traditions that help us honor God.
