Hitchens's razor

Hitchen's Razor is an idea by Christopher Hitchens that says "what can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence". This means that if someone has an idea or opinion but doesn't have any proof, then it's probably not true and can be ignored. We usually like to see proof or evidence for something before believing it, so Hitchen's Razor is a good way to help us decide if something can be trusted or not.
