Hoag's object

Hoag's Object is something in space that looks like a donut. It is a galaxy that is very far away from Earth, which means that it takes a long time for light to travel from there to here. People who study space use a special tool called a telescope to look at Hoag's Object and other things in space.

Hoag's Object is special because it has a bright center, and then a dark hole in the middle, surrounded by a ring of blue stars. This is what makes it look like a donut. Scientists think that this happened because two galaxies crashed into each other a very long time ago. The crash made a lot of gas and dust move around, which made the blue stars form in a ring.

Even though Hoag's Object is very unusual, it's not the only thing in space that looks like a donut. There are other galaxies with similar shapes, but they are not as bright or easy to see as Hoag's Object. It's pretty cool to think that there are so many interesting things out in space that we can't see with just our human eyes!
