Hobbs meter

A hobbs meter is a small tool that helps people keep track of how long something has been working or running. Just like how a clock tells us what time it is, a hobbs meter tells us how much time has passed since we turned something on or started it running.

For example, let's say we have a lawnmower that we use to cut the grass in our yard. We don't want to run the lawnmower too much or too little because that can make it wear out faster or not cut the grass properly. So, we use a hobbs meter to keep track of how much time we spend mowing the lawn.

The hobbs meter is usually connected to the lawnmower's engine and starts counting the time as soon as we turn it on. When we're done mowing the lawn, we can look at the hobbs meter to see how long we ran the lawnmower for. This helps us keep track of how much time we've spent mowing the lawn and make sure we're not overusing the lawnmower.

Overall, a hobbs meter is just a simple tool that helps us keep track of how long something has been running. It's kind of like a stopwatch, but instead of counting seconds, it counts hours and minutes.
