Hole opener

So imagine you are playing with Play-Doh and you want to make a really big circle. But your circle cutter is too small, so you have to keep pressing it over and over again until your circle gets bigger.

A hole opener is like a giant Play-Doh cutter for drilling oil and gas wells. It helps make the hole bigger by cutting through the rock and dirt. It works kind of like a donut cutter -- it has a big circle that goes around the outside and sharp teeth that cut through the ground.

The hole opener is attached to a drilling rig and lowered into the hole that has already been drilled. It's pulled through the hole, cutting through the rock and dirt, until it reaches the other end. Then it's pulled back out and the hole is bigger!

The bigger the hole, the bigger the well can be and the more oil or gas can be extracted. So a hole opener is an important tool in the oil and gas industry.
