ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Holographic display

A holographic display is like a magic box that shows pictures and objects that look like they are floating in mid-air. Imagine that you are looking at a photograph in a frame, but instead of just being flat, it's like you can see all the different sides and angles of the picture like it's a real object!

This works using a special technology that creates a 3D image that appears to be floating in space. This is done by shining lasers on a special material that creates patterns in the light, which our eyes then interpret as a 3D image.

The holographic display can also be interactive, which means that we can touch the floating image and make it do things, like move or change color. It's like playing with a 3D toy that isn't really there!

So, basically, a holographic display is a really cool way to see things in 3D like they are right in front of you, even though they are not actually there. It's like a magic box that brings pictures and objects to life!
