ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Holographic principle

The Holographic Principle is a theory that says that all the information about a 3D space like the universe or your house can actually be stored on a 2D surface. Think of it like a giant movie or 3D projection: it looks like a big 3D world but everything is really only stored on a flat surface! To understand the Holographic Principle, you can think of what happens when you take a picture of something. The picture is a flat 2D image, but it still contains information about the object in the picture, like what it looks like. The same thing is true for the Holographic Principle - all of the information about something in 3D can be stored on a flat 2D surface.
