Host-based intrusion detection system

A host-based intrusion detection system (or HIDS) is like a guard that helps protect your computer or network. It looks for anything suspicious or unusual, like someone trying to get into your network without permission. It can also detect if someone has changed files or settings on your computer. The HIDS keeps an eye on your network for any strange activity, like someone sending lots of messages from your computer or running programs you haven’t installed. If it finds something suspicious, it will alert you and can even block the activity automatically. Basically, it’s like having a security guard 24/7, keeping an eye on your computer to make sure you don’t get hacked or have other problems.
