Hot air balloon

A hot air balloon is like a big, round, colorful balloon that people can ride in. It works by heating up the air inside the balloon. This makes the air inside the balloon lighter than the air outside of the balloon. When this happens, the balloon starts to rise up into the sky.

The hot air inside the balloon is heated up by a big burner that is powered by propane gas. This burner shoots out flames into the bottom of the balloon, which heats up the air inside of it. The more heat that goes into the balloon, the higher it will go up.

The balloon is attached to a big basket, usually made of wicker or bamboo. This is where the people who are riding in the balloon stand or sit. The basket is attached to the bottom of the balloon with special ropes and it usually has a cover to keep everyone inside safe.

When it's time to fly the balloon, the pilot lays the balloon out on the ground and inflates it with cold air from a big fan. Then, they use the burner to heat up the air inside the balloon until it starts to rise up into the sky. The wind will then carry the balloon along its path.

To move the balloon up or down, the pilot can control the amount of heat going into the balloon. If they want to go higher, they'll add more heat. If they want to go lower, they'll let some of the hot air escape from the top of the balloon.

Flying in a hot air balloon is a lot like floating on a big cloud. It's peaceful and quiet up there, and you can see for miles around. It's a really special experience that many people love to try at least once in their lifetime.
