Hub gear

A hub gear is like the engine of a bike that makes it go faster or slower depending on how hard you pedal. It is a special type of gear system that is hidden inside the bike wheel. You cannot see it from the outside because it's covered by a protective cover.

Inside this little box, there are gears that connect to your bike chain. When you turn your pedals, it makes the gears move in the hub. Each gear has a different size and shape, so it can make the bike go faster or slower.

If you want to go faster, you switch to a higher gear, and if you want to go slower, you switch to a lower gear. Some hub gears have more gears than others. The more gears a hub has, the more options you have for going faster or slower.

The best thing about hub gears is that you can switch gears while you are riding your bike, even if you are not moving. This can come in handy if you have to stop at a traffic light or if you need to adjust your speed quickly.

So, the next time you ride a bike and notice that it's easy to speed up or slow down without much effort, you can thank the hub gear system for making it possible.
