ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hulk (ship type)

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a big ship with a really strong, powerful engine that can carry heavy things across the ocean? Well, that ship is called a "bulk carrier" or "Hulk."

Imagine you have a bunch of things that are too heavy to move by yourself, like big rocks or a bunch of toys. You would need something really strong and big to carry those things, right? That's kind of what a hulk ship does. It carries really heavy things like coal, iron, or grain in huge quantities.

A hulk ship has a very large and special design that allows it to carry a lot of weight without tipping over or sinking. It's kind of like a giant bathtub that can hold a lot of water, or in this case, heavy cargo. The inside of the ship is divided into many different compartments called "holds" where the cargo is stored.

Hulk ships are important because they help transport these heavy materials across the world. Without them, these things might not be available in other parts of the world, which could be bad for people who need them.

So, that's basically what a hulk ship is. It's a really big, strong ship that can carry a lot of heavy things across the ocean.
