Human resources

Human Resources (often referred to as HR) is a group of people in a company or organization who are in charge of making sure all the people who work there are happy and productive. They make sure that all the people are getting the right training and support in order to do their job well, that they are getting paid on time, and that they feel safe, respected, and supported. HR also makes sure that all the laws that protect employees are being followed. In some bigger companies and organizations, the HR department is in charge of hiring new people, making sure the people leaving are getting severance pay, and dealing with any conflict or disciplinary issues. HR also works with other departments in the organization to make sure everyone is working together towards a goal and that the organization is running smoothly.
