Okay kiddo, so you know how we all have certain things that we want to be able to do or have in our lives, like going to school, being safe from harm, and saying what we think? Those things are called "rights."
In Bulgaria, there are certain rights that every person is supposed to have, no matter who they are or where they come from. Some of these rights include things like:
- The right to life and liberty: This means that nobody should be able to take away your life or freedom unless you've done something very wrong.
- The right to be treated equally: This means that nobody should treat you worse because of your skin color, your religion, your gender, or anything else.
- The right to express yourself: This means that you should be able to say what you think, as long as it doesn't hurt other people.
- The right to privacy: This means that you should be able to keep your personal things and information private, unless there's a really good reason for somebody to need to know it.
- The right to a fair trial: This means that if you're accused of doing something wrong, you should have a chance to defend yourself in court and have a decision made fairly.
There are lots of other rights too, but those are some of the most important ones. Sometimes, though, people in Bulgaria don't have these rights respected by the government or by other people. This can be really unfair and it can cause a lot of problems.
One thing that's important to remember is that sometimes people have different ideas about what rights are most important or how they should be interpreted. For example, some people might think that businesses should have more freedom to do what they want, even if it might harm the environment or workers. Other people might think that protecting the environment and workers is more important than giving businesses that kind of freedom.
Overall though, the idea of human rights is that everybody should be treated with respect and fairness, and that everyone should have the opportunity to live a happy, healthy life.
