Human skin color

Human skin color is the color of the skin on your body. It is determined by cells in your skin called melanocytes. These cells produce a pigment called melanin, which is what gives your skin its color. The amount of melanin in your skin varies depending on your ancestry, so people with different ancestries (such as African, Asian, European, etc.) often have different skin colors. The sun also plays a role, as too much sun exposure can cause more melanin to be produced, giving your skin a darker color.
