Hydraulic fracturing

Hydraulic fracturing is a way of getting oil and natural gas out of underground rocks. To do this, people make a hole deep in the ground, then put water, sand, and chemicals into it. The mixture creates pressure inside the rock, which makes it crack and release the oil and gas so that it can be collected at the surface.
