Hydrofluorocarbon

Hydrofluorocarbons, also known as HFCs, are special chemicals that are used for a lot of different things. They are made up of hydrogen, fluorine, and carbon atoms.

Some people use HFCs to keep their homes or buildings cool. This is because when HFCs are compressed and then released, they can turn into a gas that is very cold. This cold gas can then be used to cool things down.

To help protect the environment, some countries have decided to limit or ban the use of HFCs. This means that companies and people who use HFCs for cooling have to find different, more environmentally friendly ways to keep things cool.
