Greenhouse gas

Greenhouse gases are gases that trap heat in Earth's atmosphere. Think of them like a blanket that wraps around the Earth and keeps it warm. The most common greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide (CO2). Other greenhouse gases are methane, nitrous oxide, and water vapor. When more greenhouse gases are in the air, more heat is kept close to the Earth, and the temperature on Earth rises.
