ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

ICD-10-PCS

Icd-10-pcs stands for International Classification of Diseases Tenth Revision Procedure Coding System. It's a way of describing medical procedures and treatments so everyone (doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, etc.) who is involved in a patient's care knows exactly what was done and when it happened.
The system is made up of codes that each have a specific meaning. For example, one code could be for an ultrasound, while another code would be for surgery. Doctors and nurses use these codes to fill out paperwork about treatments and procedures that were done for a particular patient. This information is then used in reports, billing, and other medical records.
