ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

ISO 15971

ISO 15971 is like a rule book for grown-up companies to follow when making things that could be a danger to people. It's all about keeping people safe from harm.

Think about it like playing with your friends. When you play games, you have to follow certain rules to make sure nobody gets hurt. For example, if you play with a ball, you have to make sure you don't throw the ball too hard or aim for someone's face.

In the same way, companies have to follow rules to make sure they don't make things that could hurt people. ISO 15971 helps companies make sure that the things they make are safe to use.

This rule book tells companies to think about all the things that could go wrong and make a plan to prevent them. They also have to test the things they make to make sure they are safe before they sell them to people.

So when you see something that says "ISO 15971 certified", it means that grown-ups have done all they could to make sure it won't hurt you.
