IVF

IVF is a way for people who have trouble having babies to have babies. Normally, when a mommy and daddy love each other very much, a sperm from the daddy and an egg from the mommy meet and turned into a baby inside the mommy's tummy. But sometimes, the mommy or daddy might have trouble with their eggs or sperm, or the mommy's tummy might not be able to grow a baby, and that's where IVF comes in.

With IVF, the mommy and daddy go to a special doctor called a fertility doctor. The doctor takes the mommy's eggs and the daddy's sperm and joins them together in a special dish in a laboratory. If the cells grow and become embryos, the doctor takes one or two of the best ones and puts them inside the mommy's tummy, where they can grow into a baby.

But, sometimes the doctor might not be able to join an egg and sperm together or the cells might not grow into embryos. This can be very hard and sad, but the doctor will keep trying until he or she can help the mommy and daddy have a baby. Overall, IVF can be a great way for mommies and daddies to have a baby when it's difficult for them to do it the normal way.
