Ice climbing is like climbing up a giant slippery ice wall with special tools called ice axes and crampons. Just like you need special shoes to climb a mountain, you need special spikes on your shoes (crampons) that help you grip onto the ice. And instead of just using your hands to climb up a wall, you use ice axes which are like hammers with sharp points that can stick into the ice.
Your mommy or daddy might wear a special helmet to keep their head safe in case they accidentally slip and fall. They might also wear warm clothes because ice climbing can be very cold!
Ice climbing is a really cool (haha, get it?) way to explore the winter landscape and challenge yourself to climb something new and exciting!
