Imperialism
Imperialism is when one country takes control or tries to take control over another country or people. This usually happens when the country that is taking control is more powerful than the other country, and so they may make decisions for the other country. Usually, the country that is taking control will want the people living there to follow their rules, maybe even speak their language, and use their currency.
