Improved sanitation means having better and cleaner ways to dispose of our pee and poo so that germs and bacteria don't spread and make us sick. This includes things like having toilets and places to wash our hands with soap and water.
Imagine if you had to use a bathroom that didn't flush or didn't have any soap to wash your hands with. All the germs and bacteria from everyone who used that bathroom would stay there and make it very easy for you to get sick. But if you had a bathroom that flushed and had soap and water, all the germs and bacteria would go away and make it harder for you to get sick.
Having improved sanitation helps keep us healthy and allows us to live in a clean environment. Plus, when we are healthy, we can go to school, play with our friends, and have fun without worrying about getting sick.
