ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Independence complex

Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes you want to do things on your own, without any help from grown-ups? That's called being independent.

Well, when there are a lot of different things you want to do on your own, like tying your shoes, pouring your own milk, or even going to the bathroom by yourself, those things all together can make up something called an "independence complex."

Just like a big LEGO set has lots of different pieces that all fit together to make something cool, your independence complex is made up of all the different things you can do on your own. And just like it takes time to figure out how all those different LEGO pieces fit together, it takes time to figure out how to do all the things in your independence complex.

But as you practice and get better at doing things on your own, you'll feel more confident and proud of yourself!
