Okay kiddo, the Indian Tamils of Sri Lanka are people who originally came from India but now live in Sri Lanka.
Many years ago, the British brought a lot of people from India to Sri Lanka to work on their plantations. These people were called "indentured laborers" and they were promised good wages and living conditions, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
These Indian Tamils were treated unfairly, had to work very hard, and were not allowed to leave the plantations. They were not treated as equals to the Sri Lankans and were often looked down upon.
Eventually, Sri Lanka became independent from Britain, and the Indian Tamils were given citizenship but they still faced discrimination and were not treated equally.
Today, many Indian Tamils have lived in Sri Lanka for generations and consider themselves Sri Lankan, but they still face challenges with discrimination and unequal treatment.
