Indifference curves are like paths that show how happy you are with different combinations of things. Imagine that you have two things you really like like apples and oranges. An indifference curve would show different paths that would tell you how happy you are with different combinations of those things. For example, one path might tell you that if you have four apples and two oranges, you will be very happy, but if you have two apples and four oranges, you won't be as happy. For every path on the indifference curve, the combinations of apples and oranges will make you feel the same amount of happiness.
