Indigenismo

Indigenismo is like being very nice to your old friends who live in your neighborhood but who sometimes get ignored or treated badly by other people.

In some countries, like Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia, there are many people who are descendants of Indigenous tribes. These people have their own languages, cultures, and traditions that are unique to them. However, sometimes they get looked down upon or discriminated against because they are seen as different from the rest of the population.

Indigenismo is a movement that started in the early 20th century to celebrate and honor the Indigenous cultures and people of these countries. It aims to recognize their contributions to society, protect their rights, and give them equal opportunities as everyone else.

People who follow indigenismo believe that it's important to preserve Indigenous languages, art, and knowledge so that they don't get lost over time. They also want to make sure that Indigenous communities are involved in decision-making processes that affect them and their land.

Some examples of indigenismo in action include Indigenous art exhibits, Indigenous language classes, and government policies that promote the preservation of Indigenous cultures.

Overall, indigenismo is about respecting Indigenous peoples and their contributions to society, and making sure they are treated fairly and with dignity.
