ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Induced demand

Induced demand is when an increase in the supply of something, like a road or store, leads to more people using it. For example, if you build a new shopping mall, more people may come to shop there because it's now easier and closer for them. So even though the mall was built to help make shopping easier, it may cause more shopping than before, because more people have access to it.
