ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Industrial minerals

Industrial minerals are rocks or minerals that are used to make other things. These minerals are mined from the Earth, kind of like digging for treasure. Different industrial minerals are used for different things. For example, talc is used in things like medicines and containers; salt is used as food and to de-ice roads; and clay is used to make things like pottery and bricks. People use these minerals to make many things we need in everyday life.
