ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Industrial warfare

Industrial warfare is when countries or groups of people use big machines and tools to fight in a war. Imagine playing with toy trucks and robots, but on a much bigger size with lots of people controlling them.

In the old days, people used swords, spears and bows and arrows to fight battles. But with time, people started making more powerful weapons and ways to move them around. Factories made machines to mass-produce things like tanks, planes, and guns. These machines were used in wars, and people started fighting using them.

So, in industrial warfare, you have countries that have lots of these big machines and weapons, and they use them to fight each other. It’s not like a toy fight, though, it’s a real fight between many people, and it can be really dangerous.

In conclusion, Industrial warfare is just countries using lots of machines and weapons to fight in a war, just like playing with big toys, but with serious consequences.
