ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Information warfare

Information warfare is a type of battle where one side uses information (like news, stories and facts) to try and get the other side to do something. Usually, the goal is to get the other side to make a mistake or to slow down their progress. For example, one side could spread false news stories about the other side, hoping to make them look bad or to get people to think differently about them.
