Insular dwarfism

Insular dwarfism is a process in which some animals can become smaller over time to survive on small islands. This happens when a larger population of animals is stranded on a small island with limited food or resources and so the animals evolve to become smaller. Smaller animals typically require less food and resources than their bigger counterparts. This evolution helps them survive in their new environment.
