Intellectual property is like when you create something—like a drawing or a song—that is special and unique. When you create something like this, you are the only one who can make something like this, so it belongs to you. It's called intellectual property because your unique creation is a type of property — like a car or a house — but this property is connected to something you thought of made up in your head.
