ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

InterPro

InterPro is like a big book for scientists that helps them understand what different things are and how they work in living things.

Imagine you have a huge box filled with different toys, but you don't know what any of them are or how they work. InterPro helps scientists figure out what the different toys in the box are and how they can be used.

Scientists use InterPro to learn about things called "proteins" that are really important for all living things to function. Proteins do different jobs, like helping your heart beat or helping your body fight off germs.

InterPro helps scientists figure out what proteins do by looking at their "ingredients" (sort of like looking at the toy's parts). When scientists look at the ingredients, they can find patterns that help them figure out what the protein does.

So, InterPro is like a big book that helps scientists learn about proteins by looking at their ingredients and figuring out what they do.
