Internal locus of control is a way of thinking where a person believes they can control things that happen in their life. It means they think they can do things to make things happen and they don't have to wait for someone else to make things happen for them. For example, if a person with an internal locus of control wants to get better at a sport, they'll figure out what they need to do to get better and do it, instead of just waiting for someone else to teach them.
