ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

International Society for Comparative Adult Education

The International Society for Comparative Adult Education (ISCAE) is like a big group of adult learners from different places around the world who come together to share their experiences and knowledge about adult education.

Imagine you and your friends at school are trying to learn something new, like how to make a cake. Each of you might have a different way of doing it or might even use different ingredients depending on where you grew up or what your family traditions are.

Now imagine that instead of just your friends, there are people from countries all over the world, each with their own unique way of doing things. This is what the ISCAE is like, a group of people who come together to learn from each other and see how adult education is different in different parts of the world.

They might talk about things like how different countries approach teaching basic skills, like reading and writing, or how they help adults learn new job skills so they can get better jobs. They might also talk about how education can help people in different cultures better understand each other and work together toward common goals.

So, just like you and your friends learning to make a cake can learn from each other and try new things, members of the ISCAE can learn from each other and try new ways of teaching and learning.
