Interplanetary spaceflight is when ships or spacecrafts travel from one planet to another. It is very hard to do because it takes lots of energy to travel from one planet to another. To get the energy needed, the ships use rockets to propel themselves through space. They also have to be careful to make sure they are properly steered in order to reach the other planet. Spacecrafts need to be specially designed for interplanetary travel because the space between planets is filled with very dangerous things, like rocks and dust. In order to get around this, spacecrafts have to have special shields to protect them, as well as special computers to help guide them on their journey.
