ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Interstate Commerce Commission

The Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) was a group of people who made rules and decisions about trains and other ways of moving things across different states. The ICC was like a big parent that made sure all the train companies followed the same rules so that things could be moved safely and fairly. They wanted to make sure that the train companies didn't cheat or treat people unfairly just because they were from a different state. It was important for the ICC to make sure that people who wanted to use the trains to move things, like corn or toys, could do it without any problems. The ICC was like a big team of helpers that made sure everything was fair and square when it came to moving things across the country.
