Iphigenia

So, let's talk about Iphigenia. Iphigenia is a girl from a really old story called mythology.

Now, Iphigenia's story starts when her dad, Agamemnon, is getting ready to go to war! But before he can go, the gods say that he has to sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia so that they will help him win the war.

Agamemnon loves his daughter very much, so this makes him very sad. But, he thinks that if he doesn't do it, they will lose the war and many more people will die.

So, he tells Iphigenia that she is going to be married to a really powerful man, but he has to send her away to a special place to get ready first. But, when she gets there, she realizes that it's not a wedding at all, it's actually a sacrifice!

Iphigenia is very scared, but she tells her father that she is willing to do it for the good of the war. She is very brave.

But, right before her father can sacrifice her, the goddess Artemis comes and tells them that she doesn't actually have to die! Artemis takes Iphigenia away and replaces her with a deer, and the war goes on without Iphigenia being hurt.

So, that's the story of Iphigenia. It's a very old story, but a very interesting one!
