Once upon a time, there was a king named Thoas who lived in a place called Tauria. Tauria was a country that was far, far away from here, and it was ruled by Thoas. Thoas was a very important man who was known for being very powerful and very strong. He was in charge of making sure that the people of Tauria followed the rules and were safe.
One day, some strangers came to Tauria. They were a group of people who had sailed across the sea, and they needed to make a sacrifice to the goddess Artemis. But Thoas did not know who they were or what they wanted, so he was very cautious. He thought that they might be there to harm him or to take over his kingdom.
So he ordered his soldiers to capture the strangers and bring them to him. When the strangers arrived, Thoas asked them what they were doing there. The strangers explained that they needed to make a sacrifice to Artemis, but Thoas didn't believe them. He thought that they were lying and that they were there for some other reason.
So he decided to punish them. He told his soldiers to take them to a place called the Temple of Artemis and sacrifice them there. The strangers were very scared and didn't know what to do. They thought they were going to die.
But then, something amazing happened. The strangers were actually siblings named Iphigenia and Orestes, and they recognized each other. They had been separated for a long time, and they were overjoyed to see each other again.
Together, they came up with a plan to escape from Thoas and his soldiers. They pretended to agree to the sacrifice and asked to be taken to the temple. But when they got there, they fought off the soldiers and escaped.
Thoas was very angry when he found out that they had escaped. He ordered his soldiers to chase after them and bring them back. But Iphigenia and Orestes were too clever for Thoas. They managed to escape and sailed away, safe and sound.
And that, my dear, is the story of Thoas the king of the Taurians.
