ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Jacobite succession

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a special toy that you really love. When you grow up, you might want to give that toy to your own kid. This is called "succession", or passing something down from one generation to the next.

Well, a long time ago in Scotland, there was a special group of people called Jacobites who supported a certain royal family. They believed that this family should be the rulers of Scotland and England. However, many people didn't agree with them, and there were a lot of wars and fighting over this.

Nowadays, there are still people who believe in the Jacobite cause and the rightful heirs to the throne. They have something called the "Jacobite succession", which is a list of people who they believe should be the monarchs of Scotland and England instead of the current royal family.

The first person on this list is someone named Franz, who is a descendant of the original royal family that the Jacobites supported. If he were to become king, it would mean that the entire line of monarchs would change from what it is now.

It's important to remember that this is just a belief held by a small group of people, and it doesn't have any real legal or political power. But it's still interesting to learn about the history and traditions of different groups of people.
