ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Japanese human experimentations

So, once upon a time, in Japan, some bad people did some really bad things. They wanted to do experiments on other people to see what would happen. But, doing experiments on people without their permission is not okay. It's mean and it can be dangerous.

But, these bad people didn't care. They wanted to know how long a person could survive without food or water or how they could make a person's body work better. They did all kinds of terrible things to people, like cutting them and infecting them with terrible diseases.

These experiments were really bad and hurt a lot of people. People who were used for these experiments were not always treated nicely and were often hurt very badly.

Luckily, these experiments stopped a long time ago, and now people know that it's not okay to experiment on other people without their permission. It's important to be kind and good to others, and not to hurt them.
