Japonism

Japonism involves being inspired by Japanese art and culture in places far away from Japan. It started when Japan opened its doors to the rest of the world after being isolated for many years. People in Europe and the United States became very interested in things from Japan, starting from their art and architecture.

People also became interested in Japanese clothing, such as the kimono, and in how they lived their everyday lives. They started to collect Japanese items and decorate their houses with them. Japonism became so popular that it even inspired some artists in Europe and the United States to change their style of art.

Japonism is still very popular today, and you can see it in things like how we decorate our homes, the clothing we wear, and the movies we watch. People continue to be inspired by the beauty and simplicity of Japanese art and culture.
